A Tourist Destination you will not Believe Existed in a Neighborhood like Agbokim.

At Agbokim Waterfall
With my experience in this tourist destination I visited in my neighborhood, I now believe that truly waterfalls stands as timeless witnesses to slow, patient forces of nature.

Agbokim is a small border community near the lines between Nigeria and Cameroon.

This tourist destination is located in a neighborhood of Etung Local Government Area about 15km from Ikom and 320km from Calabar, Cross River State.

It is an old town that is surrounded with rain forest that always keep the small town moist and shaded from direct sunlight.

This community host a tourist destination you will never believe existed in such neighborhood.

My Visit to Agbokim Waterfalls.

I arrived Ikom (A Junction town between Ogoja and Calabar), we left early in the morning with a friend who is serves (NYSC) in the Local Government (Etung) to the waterfall’s location. It was a long Journey as it will be for everyone visiting a place for the first time.

I and Mr. Ekure between the twin rock

We took motorcycles as the road was not too good for vehicles, it was an interesting Journey until we got to the community.

From the Point we came down from motorcycles we were literally hearing the thunderous sound from the falls.

We met the Falls Guard Mr. Ekuri Assam who is an indigenous son of the community; he was very happy to receive us as if we had told him we were coming.

Without a second thought this made me believe the people of Agbokim Community are welcoming and loving people too.

Agbokim Falls

The Waterfalls.

Agbokim waterfall is really a tourist location as the waters fall uninterruptedly series of seven cascade with a total length of 6817.73m. The fall is surrounded by a very green vegetation which serves as home to thousands of birds that filter the surroundings with soft melody of chirping.

This seven falls have their own different names in the Agbokim’s man dialect (Ejagham)

I can tell from experience that this is one of the most beautiful falls in Africa as it is designed with naturally crafted rocks that looks terrifying and beautiful at the same time especially when I was shown the Twin Rock Called Amba na Manyo.

The Agbokim Waterfall has an alluring serenity and Mr. Ekuri Assam said most visitors are lucky to catch a rainbow across the aura of the waterfalls and we were lucky because we saw the rainbow too.

Under a Rock in Agbokim falls

It was a beautiful experience and I can say this place is worth Millions of Dollars for investment as an Electricity Damp or Tourist Upgrade.
